Our past, present and future

From the Attic to the Track

The journey of the VallRacing Team (VRT) is not just the story of building a car; it is the story of a pursuit of technical excellence and resilience in the face of adversity.

2020 – 2021: The Restart and the “Office” Under the Stairs

After previous attempts that never fully materialised, a decisive turning point came in 2020 2020. Under the leadership of our founder, Iza Martínez, the team was completely reorganised from scratch with a renewed strategy. In 20212021, with barely 20 members, we began shaping our identity under humble conditions: our first operational base was a small attic space under the university stairs.

There, surrounded by drawings and tools, we didn’t just start designing a car—we began building a team with a completely different mindset.

2023: The Value of Learning

After two years of intense work, we marked 2023 as our debut season. However, the reality of competition put us to the test: limited budget and time prevented us from completing the car on schedule.

What could have been a breaking point instead became our greatest lesson. Rather than giving up, that setback gave us the technical maturity and strength needed to redefine our processes.

2024: Pioneers in Castilla y León

The accumulated effort finally came to life in 2024 with the birth of the VRT24, our first fully built single-seater. With its completion, the VallRacing Team made history by becoming the first team from Castilla y León to compete in Formula Student..

Our Essence

Today, VRT is much more than a group of students; it is an engineering laboratory where motivation and knowledge are our only reward.

We are proof that, with vision and hard work, it is possible to go from a university attic to international racing circuits.
